Moving from a twenty year career as an information specialist, Jim Rowlands, established Inflight in 1992.
Initially, both design and manufacture were concentrated on the development and production of smaller steerable parafoils, but we soon grew into one of the well known suppliers of large inflatable display kites - which were regularly seen at large kite festivals - in UK, Europe, USA, Middle East and Far East. Jim Rowlands' three books of kite designs, published 1989-1992, the very popular "Le Frog" and new style "Flowform" design established a worldwide reputation. Both are still in manufacture, twenty years on.
In 2000, a time when almost all world wide manufacture of kites had moved to China, with a very obvious affect of prices, we were obliged to take a new direction . Rather close down, as many of our contemporaries had done, the winter months were spent seeking how we could use design and manufacturing skills and facilities to pursue new markets - hence our rebranding as Skynasoars. The feather banners, and inflatable sculpures, products we had been manufacturing since 1994 stayed with us, but kite manufacture ceased, and many of our designs were licensed to companies in USA.
Evolving out of the kite industry, armed with research skills, knowledge of aerodynamics, familiarity with design and construction techniques using lighweight fabrics, carbon and GRP, we have been able to bring a new approach, to what was a very traditional approach to flag and windsock design.
New designs, support poles and outdoor mountings were introduced in 2005, providing lighter weight, greater portability and above all, a sense of style, lacking in many other previous designs. Spring 2006 saw the introduction of the Parabola which has proved a phonomenal success with sales in excess of 1000.
The Skynasoars brand has also become established as one of Uk.s leading suppliers of portable flag systems. Further developments in the past two years have seen the expansion of our pre-dyed and appliquee flags, for festivals and corporate events, the re-introduction of our range of pop-up banners.
More recent developments 2010/11 have seen the further development of the Parabola, into the two panel stand alone Parabola-X and the new "Fresco" feather flag. Our partnerships have brought us the Lanterns : a unique style of portable banner with 360 degree visibility, and an innovative dynamic.

As a a relatively small company, we work hard to provide high and consistent performance, in terms of manufacturing quality, advice and customer support.
We choose our suppliers carefully continually monitoring their performance. Almost all our products are of Skynasoars design, not only windsock and flag styles, but also the accessories; poles, stands and mountings have all been developed by our in house team working in coooperation with largely UK based manufacturers. We are constantly reseaching and developing new products, to meet your changing needs. Quality systems are in place to ensure that our products meet your design and performance requirements and we shall always aim, not only to meet your deadlines but to exceed your expectations.
